The sledge features a dual-layer foam construction: a firm lower layer that allows it to glide smoothly over various surfaces - including concrete, tiles, carpets, and staircases - and a softer upper layer that ensures maximum comfort for the patient during transit.

For added security, the evacuation sledge is equipped with reinforced safety belts and a foot pocket to keep the patient securely in place throughout the movement. Pulling loops at both ends make it easy for one or two people to operate, while a dedicated head-end loop allows for controlled descents on staircases.
